The Kalahari Spa Range was created after many years of research, by a team of experts, including botanists and various scientists , who sourced naturally derived ingredients based on plant shrubs, plant oils, red sand, nourishing mud and rich mineral salts from the Kalahari Desert. An intimate knowledge of nature, plants and the powerful gift of touch, have been fused into an exceptional selection of products and treatments.

Massage options

SWONE offers the following Massage options. You may choose the one you prefer or you may leave the choice to the discretion of your therapist.

• TRADITIONAL SWEDISH - this is the most universal of all massage techniques and the most popular. It involves long smooth strokes, kneading and circular movements using massage oil.
• HAWAAIN - this involves the use of the therapists arms and elbows and delivers strong long movements on the body's muscles
• AFRICAN SANDS - delivers an undulating, rhythmic massage with a ripple effect.

A smooth African calabash is also used for part of the massage to deliver a uniquely relaxing feeling.

• HOT STONE - heated smooth lava stones are placed on certain parts of the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and balance energy centres in the body. The stones are used to de-stress and create a very comforting and warm undulating feeling on the body
• RUNGOU MUSQULAIRE - this is a massage where the therapists skilfully uses Rungou sticks to massage the body.
• AROMATHERAPY - aromatherapy oils to relax, energise, balance, reduce stress. Note: A Deep Tissue massage cannot be done with aroma oils.
• SPORTS - this is a very specific massage for people who are physically active but not necessarily high performing athletes. Massage techniques are generally faster and aimed at un-knotting and loosening tight muscles and stretching muscles - all to prevent injury or to accelerate the healing of an injury.

The strength and intensity of your massage depends on you. We offer:

• An intensive deep tissue massage in which a lot of pressure is applied to the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. It is recommended for chronically tight muscles or where one is experiencing repetitive strain. It is usual that one would feel a little sore for a day or two after a deep tissue massage.
• Medium intensity tissue massage in which pressure is applied to loosen and relax muscles but not to the deeper layer of muscles.
• Mild intensity massage where the objective is mainly for relaxation and to de-stress

Your therapist will provide the treatment you request. Please feel free to communicate with your therapist during your massage to ask for a stronger or lighter pressure.
